Neruda Blues

Poetry of the Planets -Venus - Contemplating Peace

Neruda Blues
by Michael Romani

If there came a day
When you might look my way
I think that I would smile
No, I know that I would

Through my longest mile
Feeling the good of your good

Your dreams are dreams of beauty
And I feel maybe
That it's my duty
To tell you so

Revealing the depth of your soul
While barely at our hello
Knowing, that I
Would give you smiles in reply

At least until your sorrow
Takes you away some tomorrow
Should that day ever come
I would live life lonesome

Your soul has touched mine
And that's the final line...
