Garden of Absentia & Memorial -A Sunrise Cup of Tea II

A Trio of Tanka
by Michael Romani

Waka for true love
Exchanged between just us two
Whispered like promises
Sunrise through your sleepy eyes
Looking up from your pillow

Your lips glisten red
From our kiss and things we've said
Keeper of my soul
I cannot live past this day
Without your warming embrace

Our ritual of tea
Stands like a composition
Filled with deep meaning
We stand together well versed
In our scenes so well rehearsed
