It’s a metaphor… or is it? 😉
Owed To Two Old Goats by Michael Romani Two loving goats who need their own page She's waiting on the floor; he's up on the stage Nothing better than fifty shades of grazing goats Don't you know that she's naked under her coat Sometimes she gets so lost feeling a bit forlorn As she smiles at him, thankful he was born But wondering why he keeps himself so busy She twirls round in her dance keeping dizzy It's all for the sake of keeping romance alive Even if it's a night out or playing some dive The time that they manage to spend together Somehow makes their lives that much better She knows every word to every song he's ever sang Because he's all her world in the bell that rang Wanting to spend time looking into his sweet eyes She finds the will to somehow believe all his alibis There is just something about his ram-stein head And in all the bad stories and jokes he's said That sharing a nibble or two with quibbles so few Reaches through the metaphors into something true It's all for the sake of keeping romance alive Even if it's a night out or playing some dive The time that they manage to spend together Somehow makes their lives a little better Watching them at a distance as I often do I find in their lives a bit of a hashtag #clue Something inside all these quiet observations About finding happiness amidst minor devastations It is the people who love us who make our journey The one worth taking in stride for you and for me I sit here on my stool watching the love float out Not longer in question, love is the remover of doubt (c) July 7, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
