The Tuesday night short poetry workshop tonight has to do with the Ekphrastic form of deriving a poem based on a work of art including digital art/photographs. From this I came up with the following:
Sparkle Dim Ekprhastic by Michael Romani In a matter of beautiful karma No one is going to dim her sparkle She dances on as if it doesn't matter And she'll never allow anyone to shatter Her loving heart and loving ways As they shine through like sun rays She shares them with me when I'm down Giving me an instant smile when I frown It's so much more than platitude That I know I owe this girl my gratitude Thankful to know that I'm her man Seeing through her eyes, I've come to understand That allowing her to be who she is freely Is what allows her to be the better part of we As I watch her creating art from nowhere Always beside me with loving heart she's there There is one so blessed and I am him To know that she'll never let her sparkle dim She knows this beyond all knowing, glowing And in all the things does we are growing Yes, I know it's more than empty platitude To say that I know I owe her undying gratitude Thankful to know that I am her loving man Seeing through her eyes, I've come to understand (c) September 4, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
