A Lotus Blossoms

In part, I have bene raised around Asian influences.  Then again, in this modern world, perhaps we all are?

A Lotus Blossoms
by Michael Romani

A lotus blossoms in its own way
The sun rises on each new day
Weakness crumbles before strength
Each day has its own good length

A storm surges from the East
Unleashing its tragic beast
Love seeks to shelter and protect
Giving all to somehow reconnect

Whispered voices are sometimes too loud
Even the humble can be too proud
When it comes to things like resolve
There are many perspectives to involve

A stolid heart seeks to preserve
All the simple but sacred things it reveres
When anger has at least turned aside
May love bless and then conquer pride

A wounded child knows his fears
For he has seen these through his tears
A cup of tea enjoyed in a linger at noon
Warms the heart, but, perhaps warms it too soon
