Long may we remember the treachery of Pearl Harbor being bombed and how that drew America into World War II.  Yes, maybe we should have seen it coming.  And maybe there’s a lesson or two be learned from this about the necessity of military preparedness…

Some dark days we do well to remember

Like this day, the 7th of December

Surprise attack won the battle that day

But, even they knew we’d end the way

We always do when called to fight war

It has to do with brave resolve and more

America’s warriors sacrifice for greater good

Its our way as it’s long been understood

Yet, it seems today has passed without a word

About this infamous day when treachery occurred

And the brave men and women who gave their all

I wish that we always keep them in our recall
