Paddington Opens the Street Fair

Love this classic story.

Paddington Opens the Street Fair
by Michael Romani

Pop up stories
Filled with glories
Hold there place
Like a warm embrace

A life's perfection
Is found in that connection
Where a single book
Provides the hook

There it is in all you gave
When there's no one to save
Paddington's as soon fired
As he was hired

Trying so hard to be kind
And doubly hard at being polite
He had hoped to find
Everything would be alright

Tickled and shriveled
Half to be driveled
Holding the world by his paws
He's lost inside the crowd's applause

Good hearted Paddington Bear
Opening up the local street fair
With the pop of a cap gun
It was time for oodles of fun

There in the unsuspected
Are the truths least expected
That all it takes is well being
To be a good bear or decent human being

There in all the hubbabaloo
Was a bear who didn't belong in a zoo
But in hearts and minds of children everywhere
If the belief in goodness is to stay there
