Siren’s Song

Maybe it’s the beginning of a sea story…

Altered Art Lounge - Siren's Song On the Rocks

Siren's Song
by Michael Romani

My soul fills with longing for the sea
All of its stormy secrets coursing through me
There in her depth of strength in this ocean
Is something that far exceeds my emotion

The waves crash along the sandy shore
But if you listen close enough there is more
The sounds of the siren's song
Pulling me back to where I most belong

Shards of pottery hold their mystery
As shadows of truth from beyond history
Waking out past the wash as splash finds the shore
What is there to find behind mystery's closed door

Secrets kept with an ancient family
Can be a straight path to the crush of calamity
Eyes from the shore search out into the sea
I hear the siren's call bringing an end to me
