Seeking the Hands of God

Reaping the righteous fruit as you sow
Hands united for God as we truly know
Used as servants of the Lord we love
We are messengers serving the above

Too often we hear the shattered phrase
Hands tied over and over not just in phase
Those who feel or act powerless as excuse
Have failed to give as they should and abuse

The fact that God is not powerless to accomplish
All that He and He through we find a need to finish
Too often told to seek not the hands but God's face
But a look at the Bible evidences this as out of place

It is often through God's hands that the best is done
Be it through HIs power, His servants' hands or His Son
God's hands are needed each moment in every day
It is His hands that guide us to do right in every way

The seeking of God requires our deep faith and action
It's through this that we find our way to best satisfaction
But like Hosea to his wife He keep calling us back to Him
Protected by His love, sheltered and clinging to His hem

Seeking God requires that we be still and surrender
Learning the tough that comes from being tender
Willing to break up our un-tilled and fallow ground
And once surrendered, we are blessed by what's found

We will never experience the fullness of God in fallow ground
These are the limits of what we do and how we are bound
We must stand up to our sinful actions and become clean
If we are to ever really know what God's glory can mean

Seeking God requires our obedience to doing right
Being proactive in helping to shine God's  sweet light
Wherever we might step forward and do some good
A heart turned toward God is one that has understood

In all of this seeking of God we must keep persistence
Honor bound to keep digging in against resistance
Righteously prepared to await the Lord's arrival
Never falling back but moving beyond mere survival

Moving forward to become all that we are meant
Sharing our abilities and blessings we are sent
Keeping our eyes on God to receive that shower
Of righteousness added to us in that diligent hour

God's hand is there ever present and stretched out
There for us with strength there to remove all doubt
Needed as it is by each of us in our  days of living
We find our way through with love and being forgiving
