Na/GloPoWriMo Day 12 asks that we who take up the challenge of finding something dull that we’re willing to give away. Well, sorry, but I’m twisting this into something that can never be owned, only given and that is so extraordinary that it can never become truly routine or dull.
Relative Complicity by Michael Romani There is something to this accidental complicity Of developing an extraordinary routine of simplicity And it seems that despite the great distance Our attraction finds it's deep persistence It seems that in talking together over the phone We find a oneness that we will never again be alone Because despite whatever distance there may be There is always a bit of me in you and you in me It's not really a thing of any great mystery Your words of love pull me stronger than gravity Einstein found that love was the greatest power And in so pronouncing found his greatest hour In this world filled with the good and the mean To me it's always seemed a little bit obscene That there are those among us who find it routine To find an imposture of love as their scene Never realizing all of the beauty and rarity Of a true love recognized with a bit of clarity Knowing that this is the thing worth holding onto This thing that keeps growing between me and you Though it's true there is some considerable distance Physically between us, still there is a steady insistence That we are really only just as far as each other's heart And every time we speak, you and I know that from the start You there in your soul are so very breathtakingly beautiful Making each moment spent a spectacular kind of wonderful As we grow together I see how you are of a love shown That makes me brave enough to dare all that is unknown You have shared you as ever unfolding and being tender Helping me be strong enough to grow into surrender And I know that our journey is and will never be routine But rather instead it is the power of love rarely seen (c) April 12, 2019 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
