In You, I Find My Spirituality

Sometimes when you look into the eyes of who you love, you see there not only them but the essence of God and that they are in many ways the messenger you might best listen to as they offer insights and the world as they see it.

In You, I Find My Spirituality
by Michael Romani

The face that frames my skull
Tries its best to conceal it all
For every why there is a why not
For every thought, one is forgot

Startled by the pieces of reality
As these are framed with surreality
Cocktails for two taken mentality
Seem to find our core like spirituality

Everything different in the sameness
Shed skin in life lived with lameness
Of those things that pass everyday
Yet, remain remarkable in every way

Flecks of anxiousness seen in your eyes
Too many moments lived in dull surprise
As the shattered glass sobers the drinker
Into something sadder than a lone thinker

I realize that what I like best about me is you
You have brought in me so much beautiful and true
In wanting to know the depths of your feeling
You, my dear, have sent heart and thought reeling

Not reeling out of control, but, as in flight
As in knowing the freedom felt in our every night
And knowing that you are the deepest part of me
Everyday smiled as I keep you in my company
