Sunrise Calling

This planet of ours exists in just the right pocket for the life giving waters to be present in all of its necessary forms.  Odd how some don’t see the miracle in that…

Sunrise Calling
by Michael Romani

Slippery as a sunrise calling
Frozen sudden in a night time's falling
Drips into drops like miracles known
Sometimes within each day shown

Climbing ice face is climbing water
And then there's that something odder
That each year's structure changes
As life as we know it rearranges

The ascent is unique as the new day's morrow
With little to tell what will be tomorrow
Melting into collapse with the tiniest heat
Shape shifting constantly and then repeat

We live and love in this paradise of water
Like the newborn children of the ocean's daughter
Each drop strained from steam to clearest stream
We drink in the divinity of this world's dream
