Originally meant for December 20th, National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day!

Sweater Weather Dues by Michael Romani Tell me now Was it just a trick of the light That led me somehow To see things differently that night They tell me it was only you Dressed in an ugly Christmas sweater And tell them that no one else will do Or could have worn that sweater any better Rudolph was very poorly knitted But, I barely noticed you see Because of how well he fitted On the girl who is my destiny I suppose holiday celebrations Depend on the side of line you're on But nothing could stop my anticipation Of thoughts of that sweater being gone I smiled deeply into your smiling eyes In no judgment of your convention Telling me that tacky bit should not surprise It was just a part of your traditions Toying with the cross I work on my neck You smiled me into a much better mood Until your touch nearly made me a nervous wreck With the happiness and joy filling me up like food Food of the soul that has it's best meaning When we learn to truly see who each are My sweater weather girl, always leaves me dreaming Like melody strummed across the strings of my guitar (c) December 20, 2019 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
