How To Live the Bible by Michael Doyle Thank you Father for our salvation Certain of our coming final destination Please hear our prayers on Palm Sunday As we worship and praise all of your ways Setting our words above my home Carved in my heart as if in stone As long as there is a sky above me I will always follow the ways of the Holy Fueling ourselves in the ways of health Are the same rules as spiritual wealth No one escapes following the rules Those taught in life's true school Too much pop culture over the Book Having been put away without a look We need to form the habits of foundation And in this way walk in our salvation Choosing a verse to keep my focus on Like a lost sheep who has gazed upon A distraction from the rest of the flock We forget our faith is also our solid rock Verses that let me know the stillness No matter how dark the wilderness I find the words to encourage my soul Giving me comfort as these console Psalms or Proverbs makes good reading To provide words of wisdom we are needing As we struggle in the life of our days Giving us guidance to in our troubled ways Starting each day with a morning devotional To quiet the moments that are emotional A short prayer to focus on what we hear Keeping our faith and inspiration near Seeking out the discarded textures That keep lessons from the scriptures Things that I know that I need Are quite often in the words I read Living on the principles of God's word I find that the vision gets a bit blurred When the God breathed words are ignored Instead of using these to be restored (c) April 5, 2020 Michael Doyle All Rights Reserved
