Awed By Living

Counting the things of needed gratitude
Instead of too often taking an attitude
At and of those things of circumstance
Forgetting to realize each moment's chance

Living life by bumper sticker mentality
We accept the platitudes of sentimentality
But somehow miss out on life's rightness
Too often blinded by moments of brightness

There is an awesomeness in all of life's wonder
Stumbling headfirst into too many blunders
Cliché ridden in an endurance of the rat race
Instead of enjoying the sacredness of each embrace

Living as though a child fully blessed
Spontaneously engaged without being second guessed
Not letting life's bring downs destroy openness
Let's instead realize that life has its blissfulness

Let the light appear cutting through the darkness
Let smiles erase the drag of gravity's harshness
Let dreams soar until too large to pretend to ignore
On reaching this bliss, let's dare to ask just a little more
