Truth of This Human’s Race

The truth is what will set us all free.  Man is mortal – limited in time.  But, not in God’s grace.

Truth of This Human's Race
by Michael Doyle

Thank you Father for loving me
Making your grace part of my theology
Heavenly felt in your embrace
It's the awkward truth of this human's race

Beautifully and wonderfully, we are made
Irrespective of creed or skin shade
Different though we are in our community
We are all part of God's one family

No Sunday morning segregation
The body of Christ is one of integration
This then is part of the beauty
Listening as we will and as is our duty

Encouraging each other to listen more than talk
This then is how we grow in our daily walk
Until we each become as though the shining light
That listens in our hearts' saddest night

Coming together in Christ and in our humility
To be our best in the loving shelter of God's family
Taking the plank out of my wounded eye
I raise my hands outstretched in prayer towards the sky
