Leaning On His Promises

It’s interesting times we live in.  Watched a church sermon via the internet.

Leaning On His Promises
by Michael Doyle

The church's electronic bulletin board read
Much as the Good Book itself has said
We need to remember each other as sister and brother
A friendly reminder to love one another

Letting praise be the way to silence the enemy
May prayer bring end to our breathless anxiety
Everywhere before my stinging, weary eyes
I see praise breaking through the walls that rise

Letting faith calm all the storms inside
Let love of God conquer my willful pride
Creation raises up in its glorious praise
Before the first dawning of the new day's sun rays

Watching the giants of fear take their fall
As God comes to break down every wall
Let this bring society's new breakthrough
As our loving God embraces me and you

Leaning into the presence of His living
Our Lord God through Jesus comes forgiving
Unshakable in His glory and control
It brings hope in His promises for my soul
