Stuck With the Blahs

Talking to a friend who was feeling in a rut and then the same theme showed up in a song and then a show.  From this came two things.  First wow.. if you don’t like what you’re doing or how it’s happening, change it up.  Secondly.. this bit of a poem.

House, Sweet, House - Friday Blahs

Stuck With the Blahs
by Michael Doyle

Betwixt and between
You know what I mean
Needing new meaning
Like all human beings

Down in the dumps
Having had taken my lumps
Seeking to pass life's test
And I'm doing my best

Muddling through as I can
Still hoping to become the man
That I always wanted to be
Despite my flawed humanity

Finding out what matters
In a world filled with tatters
Seeking to keep it together
Hoping my story comes out better

The feeling came without warning
Finding me this morning
Suddenly without any good cause
I'm stuck with the blahs

No one gets better
By pretending to be together
Or by running away
Just one foot forward, day after day

The world has to keep spinning
If there's to be the winning
Until then, I'll muddle through
This I promise me as much as you
