What Fools Lament...
by Michael Doyle
What fools lament, wise men cherish
Forever vigilant that our ideals won't perish
Living life in recycled cinema outtakes played
We stand up boldly and unafraid
Holding tight against things that shouldn't be
The quietly spoken pillars of our community
Shed chances at fifteen minutes under an artificial sun
Knowing that we might not make it, but, we'll give our best run
The questions in life often cut too deep
Still, we cling to the tree of liberty that we'll keep
Pitched to do more than we ever wanted
By the Stygian hounds that should have never hunted
Confused as we often are, but, on the same page
The singer drops his microphone on our stage
With words that should never have to be said
But must be pronounced as our hearts are led
Forced into play by negative bytes of disposition
We'll stand firm against the trials of omission
If you're wondering about our truest motivation
Take another stab at reading our formative explanation
