To Feel Again
by Michael Doyle
I admire people who are unafraid to feel
Who know the danger and yet keep it real
It is scary to feel that compulsive something
But it beats the feeling of nothing
As life hands us our challenging hand
A fate that we are unable to command
We take our moments just as these are
Hoping to press the envelope a little far
In doing this, we begin to feel alive
Having reached beyond the point we survive
Into the things that perhaps mean the most
Staring risk in the face like a familiar ghost
I speak honestly when I say that you make my day
Something special and loving in every way
And that your touch felt across a million miles
Reaches into my soul with as many smiles
Not a day has passed by since we've met
That I will forget or hope to ever regret
There might just be something to destiny
And if there is, I hope it finds you for me
Because in this time that we have been together
You have brought back the feelings so much better
And I know that your being brave and soul baring
Leaves me feeling nothing but love and caring
Each day before I sleep I say a little prayer
That as I wake in the morning you'll still be there
Loving me, wanting me and being just who you are
And then I look up and wish upon one bright star
