Christ Meets the Grecian World
by Michael Doyle
There are things that we've learned along the way
Such as that, evil will never truly win the day
And that while the devil deals in duplicity
A truly good person will always withstand adversity
In the Gospel of John, we find the paradigm
That even death might be defeated by the divine
Offered as a philosophy given in its testimony
We have witnessed the wisdom found in Christianity
This then, was the lesson of the Rebbe's wisdom
Found as the key and the way of the kingdom
By which a life is lived toward its salvation
Where good is known by its force, like gravitation
No longer an isolated Jewish sect to be lost in history
The Way came alive as part of Grecian intellectual currency
Spread against the altar of the world's chord
Drawn and split in transformation by truth's sword
By the third century, wise men pursued the mystery
Drawn out in observation of the patterns of Christianity
Washed against the backdrop of intellectual investigation
And sought after with fervent forays into tradition
