Shoreline Levee Abstraction
by Michael Doyle
Without the world's imposed inhibitions
You find life without so many limitations
Waiting for you below the surface, we keep
The sands of time as these start to seep
Pouring through our hands as these flow
Is a new depth for each of us to know
About ourselves and those we hold near
The inner depths seen as these do appear
It is there that we find the dreams lurking
If only we might peep inside and keep looking
Pressing onward to the point where they reveal
All the needed secrets that keep our souls still
Waiting and wondering sometimes in the worrying
We find little need to do all this great deal of hurrying
And there before the levee breaks is the dream
Where the Big Easy merges into ocean serene
