Story Book Connection

Story Book Connection
by Michael Doyle

We met in a moment of quiet conversation
Our talking led to smiles without hesitation
And with every further touch I now find
You are the one that will never be left behind

To me there never really was a question
Though I do admit to a little hesitation
On letting my feelings show and reveal
My sharing of the things time would tell

Like a dream's child born in true love
You are like an angel fallen from above
Guiding me with your sweet tenderness
That since we have met has brought bliss

It is hard to say what else tomorrow will bring
But one thing is certain that is the song I sing
As I strum my guitar and look your beautiful way
Your heart speaks to mind in words we say

and there in the looks each of us gives
The joy felt and all the smiles we live
Touching you is to touch my deepest feeling
The room spins fast leaving my head reeling

Like Stevie says, it's like abracadabra
Simply magical as I reach out and grab ya
Knowing you've already grabbed my heart
And believing you have since the start

If tomorrow brings nothing else but you
Then I will have seen God's beauty in my view
For you are my today and all of my tomorrow
The source of all of my happiness and none of my sorrow

I told you once I would write a poem twice a week
No matter how busy or how my work might make me sneak
And there it is once again for you, a token of my affection
Sent from my heart to you in our story book connection
