Finally Stilled

Finally Stilled
by Michael Doyle

We dance our dance
Whispering our romance
Under the Milky Way
Finding tomorrow every day

In every touch that we share
Finding truth revealed in care
Knowing loneliness in our absence
Finding need for each other's presence

Some say love is a form of weakness
They are absurd fools who speak this
In your heart, I know that I am strong
With the certainty of where I belong

And where you belong is beside me
Sharing your dreams so vividly
Here we are bare before the stars
Our songs played on a million guitars

And there is no loudness as loud
As the quietness of my love allowed
Your end to my beginning revealed
And all doubt having been finally stilled
