Pressure Put On Coal
by Michael Doyle
Like a herd of deer comes crashing in
Falling like a gift from the sky
Falling like snowflakes as it's Christmas again
And the angels sing their hallelujah reply
Snow clouds form again and yet there is no snow
Still, there's a warmth filling the air with love
I swear that if you look just right you see the glow
With sleep drifting in as if given from above
There's a truth that reveals the innermost heart
Without a single word having to be said
Some things come to readily fit the part
Complete with nine reindeer and a sled
There's a lot to be said for authenticity
When your jolliness comes from within
It speaks of the worth of living integrity
That brings Christmas back yet again
It's there in the happiness the real Santa brings
Found in all the moments good for the soul
You can hear the mirth in all of the songs we sing
Diamonds form from the hard pressure put on coal
