A Mustang's Spirit
by Michael Doyle
A mustang's spirit can never be broken
The wild wind said in words unspoken
Into the sky, the story of wild turned to love
Born in a meadow with only the stars above
Skies as endless as these were beautiful
Shy but strong as the range is wonderful
There it is that the fire keeps its rising
Gentle as kind with an ache quite surprising
This mild call of freedom would never be taken
And through it all the wild spirit will not be shaken
In the time of all that is coming, we ride to the stars
Kept in the sight of both eyes, love is never far
Anger and passion tells the truth of personality
It shows the fullest of spirit in all actuality
On the shortest night on the longest journey
Time tells the final truth of everyone's destiny
In a world suddenly turned around without sympathy
We live our bad days out composed as private symphony
Learning to talk without force in nobility's given and take
Love without measure is a love we will never forsake
