Life Worth Living

A Christmas Dream - Me & the Man On the Moon
Life Worth Living
by Michael Doyle

I've never been one given to chance
Determined to rise above my circumstances
As a child of God driven by destiny
Taking this challenge as my legacy

Heaven holds all of my best treasure
God first, then family, is my measure
A steward of God's intended bliss
This is where I place my happiness

Consider this as a letter to all
Who've given my life love and that I recall
As always giving to me their most
As I pray this prayer to the heavenly host

We need some more of love and kindness
In this world driven madly in its blindness
Walking our walk in all of humility
Having the grace to treat others with dignity

These are some of the lessons that I've learned
As I have grown in faith and have discerned
Thanks be to God for my family and our legacy
And all that they have and will always mean to me

I pray for God's favor for whom I do love
Guided in our waking moments by God above
We will not fall before adversity
But hold true to our faith and integrity

Hands clasped together, we live our battle
With belief and love, this world will not rattle
As I gaze upon our precious Lord's face
My purpose filled life is one that I embrace

Thanks be to God for all that He's done
Giving us life through the birth of His son
Living these moments around the acts of forgiving
I cherish all who make and have made life worth living
