With You As My Dream

With You As My Dream
by Michael Doyle

Once upon a time, there was a dream
And she shared her dreams with me
Told me I was her king if she was my queen
Seemed about right, my walking fantasy

Like a fairy tale told in all of its detail
There is this hope that my heart knows
That every moment shared is real
From sunshine to the playful shadows

I cast my penny down the wishing well
Wistfully believing the thoughts in my head
Every line chimed with the ringing of my bell
Remembering every word she ever said

Perhaps it is that some dreams do come true
This is my prayer every time I think of us two
And the cause behind the all that I've to do
To make these moments a lifetime of me and you

Whispering into my pillow it seems late night
Three words that mean more than all to me
Wanting so much to wake up holding you tight
When real becomes as beautiful as our fantasy
