Don't You Just Be You
by Michael Doyle
Faith forms logic and actions
Sometimes it's less easy with life's distractions
Doing what we really want and need
Looking at the fine print we must read
Seek instead to always be your best
It's just reality and not a test
That loyalty to those past ways
Can sometimes lead to lesser days
Don't sacrifice your best on and altar of you
You know the right things that you must do
Taken up to the mountain for more than a view
Listen to God, He'll tell you what to do
Don't be discouraged from taking the deeper dive
Take those right decisions and be truly alive
Taking on the image in pursuing godly ways
Letting the former self pass into better days
Choosing the discomfort that serves us best
Fortified in life that we might pass this test
Striving for who we might best become
This is the way for servants of God's kingdom
