Beneficial Benediction

Fantasy Faire - Cassiopeia Dragon's Flight
Beneficial Benediction
by Michael Doyle

It should really come as no surprise
That when all anyone ever tells is lies
To tell the truth is a revolution
But it's beneficial in our evolution

Don't fear the monsters in your head
Make them afraid of you instead
Like figments of a tortured imagination
We must sleep this dream of machination

Breaking these chains that bind us inside
Despite the comfort of shadows in which we hide
There's no future in clinging to the past
Like a reef wrecked ship in need of its mast

We must regain ourselves to sail again
Between the rocks of all we yet pretend
As a reason to hold us back from our all
It is time instead to rebound off our wall

Speaking truth no matter who else listens
Refusing fool's gold no matter how it glistens
Victory will be, can be, shall be won
If only on this journey we stay as we've begun
