There Is A Dream
by Michael Doyle
There is a dream
Inside our reflection
A silent sort of scream
That escapes the world's detection
A world that no one else can see
In an answer in search of questions
That we won't ask in possibility
A mirrored echo of our own hesitation
To reach beyond the staked tether
That holds us to our ground
Willing away what might be better
To keep what has been found
Somehow we are willfully unaware
That as we grow, we have more of a choice
Than to believe we are trapped in our snare
In defiance of this, we must find our voice
What might be that we have a chance to render
Can only be revealed by our inner most selves
Dignifying things filled with so much splendor
Formed in our dreams or from books on shelves
It is for the tomorrow we yet to build
When we open our hearts and minds to see
The power and the truth openly revealed
Brought from our strongest wishes to reality
There are so many roads on which we travel
As we all seek the same unknown destination
With so many mysteries left to unravel
Each is singularly revealed in our investigations
