While They Break Our Hearts
by Michael Doyle
Life is full of imprecisions
Too many mistakes
And too many bad decisions
Romances gone wrong
Never knowing where one belongs
Just another round of heartbreak songs
Staying up late to catch a break
Some things can't be fake
While they break our hearts
Sure as we are, but we're rarely right
Falling in love at first sight
Only to find ourselves in another false start
Full moon fever burns real hot
Just as hot as the dreams we've forgot
Wondering how it slipped through our hands
Pardon me senorita if I ask for this dance
Huntington Beach girl, my one sure chance
As I watch you walking across these sands
Staying up late to catch a break
Some things can't be fake
While they break our hearts
Sure as we are, but we're rarely right
Falling in love at first sight
Only to find ourselves in another false start
I love how your eyes sparkle at night
Watching the fire pit embers burn slow and right
As we lose ourselves in another kiss
A dream of how it is, holding you tight
Never gonna let you out of my sight
I take my best swing, praying that I won't miss
Staying up late to catch a break
Some things can't be fake
While they break our hearts
Sure as we are, but we're rarely right
Falling in love at first sight
Only to find ourselves in another false start
You know that I've never really been clever
But I'm smart enough to want you forever
A touch of your hand fills me up inside
I only need this one dream to come true
It's the only dream starring view of me and you
I feel it every night as we make love
Staying up late to catch a break
Some things can't be fake
While they break our hearts
Sure as we are, but we're rarely right
Falling in love at first sight
Only to find ourselves in another false start
No, no, there's no need to take it slow
Some times it's certain, and we already know
If I can keep you, I'll never let you go
Pretty ballerina dancing on your California sands
I watch your magic as this guitar plays in my hands
If you let me, I'll keep you and never let you go
