In Ceremony

Okinawa Winter Festival -Shopping Never Was My Thing
In Ceremony
by Michael Doyle

Beyond money and fear
There is an underlying trust
This is the path of loyalty
And without that currency, it is bust

Once broken, there is a penalty
Even among the underground's royalty
it is the price that must be paid
Or all that is stood for begins to fade

In the inner life's flow
One must abandon ego
To reach the state of harmony
There are many paths to this singularity

In which the past doesn't matter
And the ties that bind all shatter
It is only in living this present moment
That detachment becomes permanent

In this quiet moment of grace
It is the way of the warrior to embrace
Until all defects become needed victory
The forms practiced are only a ceremony
