Life has its hits
That come along the way
The Devil has his dues
We all have to pay

It's a slow parade
The passage of these years
Filled with ups and downs
Its smiles and its tears

But of all the things
That have come and gone
The thing I'll miss the most
Are your smiles before the dawn

Inspired by conversation
The words that come from you
Who knows our destination?
Yet, your soul shines through

Like a rainbow constellation
I am easily caught in the beauty of you
Played out in endless fascination
It's a dream, I'm wishing to come true

Words waft shimmering in the air
Like the lyrics of my favorite song
Ideas exchanged wondering as we dare
With each note, I feel as if I belong

What's better than an inside joke
Are the connections that are real
You are the fire behind my smoke
The time spent with you makes me feel
