On A Friendship

Rivendell -Sky Light Dancers
On A Friendship
by Michael Doyle

Friendship is like a story
A melody that catches and belongs
There in the ways of trust
Is a love that grows as it must

Children play at their games
We play our own, just the same
Believing in things hard to believe
In the world's wonders so hard to conceive

We walk life's trials together
Knowing this is the way that is better
Each of us carrying the other's load
As travel down a seeming purgatory road

Always searching for peace that eludes
Even as the rudeness of life intrudes
Lights sparkle across our known skies
Like love celebrated before our eyes
