Illuminating Light

Every day is a new day
Of goodness felt in celebration
To be lived in every way
With the utmost fascination

Regardless of expectation
Life comes just as it will
However direct in contemplation
Each day has its own unpaid bill

It is all in the keeping real
That which happens along the way
The moving facts beyond the feel
Regardless of what we might say

The Lord is our shepherd every moment
That serves us in relationship
Guarding us from danger and torment
As we walk in our worship

Every blessing must turn to praise
To keep our challenges in line
Glorifying God in all our days
For His works, we must always keep in mind

Taking our cues from the actuality
That Christ is our savior in theology
We need to brace ourselves in factuality
Setting our processes of faith in modality

Not the shepherd, we are indeed the sheep
Often misreading the darkened room
Skilled in knowing what it is to keep
We thank the Lord for His illuminating light

This is the gospel that we live
Running the battles of our every day
Taking from life all that God will give
The best path forward is to simply pray
