My Business Is the Future
by Michael Doyle
Like other dreamers
My concern isn't the present
That's for erratic schemers
And others that we grow to resent
My business is the future
Not as an oracle but as one who creates
Looking for the right things to nurture
Engaged in what it is that fascinates
It seems that past this field of schemes
There are too many shallows to wade in
With their chaotic themes
Always work to loop and then
This bed of thugs that we call humanity
Are mostly things greater beings that are of no concern
Because the history lived has been near lunacy
It's been the rare person who sees this and discerns
With the peeling of an apple, slice by slice
History needs an author to rewrite its pages
It's a screenplay off-script but held in its vice
To right this wrong quickly will take the wisest sages
