A Mouse Decides To Roar
by Michael Doyle
Consider only what life might become
Live only for the deeds yet to be done
Woman lights the way for her man
And it is his duty to do what he can
How the world is, is a matter of perception
To believe the impossible is not deception
But to reach for the furthest away stars
Fighting for the heavenly cause, no matter how far
To fight the unbeatable foe and not tire
Is the thankless lot for errant knight and squire
The crusade is fought that must yet be fought
To be more noble than is ever rightly sought
However sad the look upon one’s face
Those brave enough to fight are in God’s embrace
One who believes can help others to see and believe
Without even once meaning to deceive
There in the shadowed reflection on the wall
The mouse that roared is ten feet tall
Ennobling all who wish to similarly dream
To become all that they would wish to seem
