Lifted From Obscurity

Turning my pages with the spirit,
There's a lot of truth, as I hear it.
Starting my day in faithful prayer,
I find that God is always there.

Leaders like Joshua come from obscurity,
And they are lifted up to become legendary.
Trusting in God, he served faithfully,
Submitting all that he did to Goo's authority.

Even the sun stood still before God's majesty,
As Joshua served the Lord, along with his family.
Filled with his true good habits of preparation,
Joshua was among those who served the Hebrew nation.

Preparing and planning to do whatever he can,
Joshua was dedicated to serving God as a willing man.
Seeing all that the Father had done,
Joshua would prepare the way for the Father's son.

Troubles will always come our way,
But griping and complaining won't help our days.
We must face them with our right intention,
And set to God's work with our full attention.

In light and darkness, our faith sets our fate.
Trusting in the Lord, it is never too late.
Asking what God wants is the pertinent question,
And we must ask that without hesitation.

At the death of Moses, Joshua began to lead.
He committed his life with every thought and deed.
We must never look back because of our insecurity,
But instead, we must simply trust in God's authority.

All things that happen are worked for our good.
This truth of God's faithfulness must be understood.
We can do whatever God puts into our hearts,
And once on those paths, we must never depart.

We must walk with courage in all that we do.
This is God's command to me and you.
God's strength is what makes us strong.
This is the refrain of God's humbling song.

God's promises made are promises to be kept.
We must be bold despite all the tears wept.
Faith and trust will help us find courage,
Even when all we see is enough to discourage.

We must focus on the refuge of God's ways.
He'll have our backs throughout our days.
Neither turning to the left, nor to the right,
God's plan must be our path's guiding light.

God's lamp will gently guide our way
As we meditate on His Word every day.
Directing our faith in its full attention,
We will live our lives with right intention.

Where it is written, there is no debate.
If there is confusion, it's not too late,
Open the Word and attentively read.
It will keep to the truth and inform us as we need.

We are children of God, living to our full value.
This is what creates the truth of me and you.
Keeping the faith is the truest inspiration,
Whatever the opportunity, even building a nation.

The penalty of our sins is death,
But we can walk forgiven to our last breath.
God's Son gave all for our salvation,
Receive this gift and know your destination.
