Gideon Answers the Call

There's no greater love than to be willing to die
For the protection of others and our nation.
There is no need to stumble asking why,
Love is the best and truly only explanation.

We think about how God calls on the ordinary,
And from these come tales of the extraordinary.
Some, among these, might be a bit outspoken,
But all of these are in some way broken.

God truly uses all of us in every way
To create His best and the rest of living days.
All of us come with our own limitations,
But these never seem too cause our inhibition.

As Israel fell away, Gideon heard God's call,
And stepped forward to the angels standing tall.
Sometimes in times of apparent weakness,
It takes true strength to speak this.

Each moment lived is a gift from God above.
As His servant, these should be lived with love.
Each of our moments is truly a great treasure,
And as such, they should be lived in full measure.

Every extravagance must be pushed away,
If you and I are to live our holy day.
When determining our value and adequacy,
We must allow God's eyes to determine our legacy.

Despite mistakes and failures, we are worthy of God's good.
To live life best, this must be lived and understood.
This can be known through God's open declaration.
That man created in His image is the only needed explanation.

As the temple of the Lord, we live as light,
A new creation chosen to serve and live as right.
We do these things in God's appointed hour,
And we do so through Christ's holy power.

To serve the Lord, we must do it with sincerity.
Any other way is a locked-in limitation on clarity.
We must be prepared to move beyond our comfort zone.
Yet, we know, we do not walk a step being alone.

Like Gideon, we must trust in God to see us through.
This is how we live best to do what we'll do.
300 men armed with courage did as God directly bid.
Putting themselves at risk, they did not keep  hid.

We act in discernment to actively do our parts.
We live love, following God in our hearts.
However, we see ourselves, God sees the truth.
We must know this, He has led us from our youth.

Always present to empower our 'yes' to our part.
This is the highest truth held in our hearts.
Through God, all things can and will be done.
This is the ultimate path of the Three-In-One.
