Strength of Samson

Strength of Samson
by Michael Doyle

God raised leaders in the Israeli nation,
And some marched through with imagination.
Now we find we are unchurched and need to learn.
All the Biblical truths need to be discerned.

Life and memory in their comparative
Require and need the declarative
Of all the goods that we need to conceive.
Let's walk forward with what we believe.

Hard times create a need for strength
As they run deep through the day's length.
Each of these we learn from is subject to temptation.
We must keep these lessons in our attention.

Being passive can lead t entitlement as we live.
These are life lessons that only life can give.
Delilah's story is a fable that is legendary,
Some loved her even as her plans were contrary.

I guess not every red flag warning is readily seen.
This is the fallibility of every human being.
Even a Nazarite is subject to deception,
And this must be attended to from conception.

The Lord gives us strengths for which we must care.
For Samson, the last thread was his hair.
We must beware of dysfunctions in every relationship.
To fail to do so is to be flawed in our worship.

Of the things we do for life and love,
We sometimes lose track of Heaven above.
We must keep God's lessons in contemplation,
And to live our lives with the right attention.

In walking life in its right and wrong,
We must be attentive to following God's glory.
We must protect our righteousness across the land.
Or else, like Samson, we'll be delivered into wrong hands.

God is always just one cry away,
And God will answer to what we pray.
So Samson recognized the errors of his ways,
And in doing so lived a righteous end to his days.

From Samson, we learn the necessity of grace
And that we must readily believe and embrace,
All of the potential that God has given
Is for the asking because we are forgiven.

We make our mistakes, sometimes with deficiency,
Overly confident as we fail to our eccentricity.
We are better off learning from our failed sin.
It would be better if we paid attention again and again.

Rock bottom is the wrong place to start,
To know and follow God with all our hearts.
It is in the Lord's full sovereignty
That we become aware of God's given opportunity.

Like Samson, Jesus died with His last breath
Accomplishing something for humanity with His death.
Our greatest strength is found in God's way.
We must remember this grace throughout our days.
