The End of A Season

The End of A Season
by Michael Doyle

Times like these need clarity.
All answers must come from integrity.
Tough times need God's leadership
As we keep humble in our worship.

Sometimes we stumble at the cross.
We find ourselves lost in a loss.
A pastor must lead as understood.
The standard is for the Church's good.

From life's highs and lows
There is a lot to experience and know.
The in-betweens are okay.
In every moment we need to pray.

Submitting ourselves to God's sovereignty,
We keep ourselves bound in Christian loyalty.
Being intentional as it is with tension,
Our free will requires our best attention.

Along with God's gift of great capability
Comes the duty of even greater responsibility.
Praying aloud as needed in every season,
The Lord forms the depth of each reason.

Children of the living God, we are,
And that much of our identity carries far.
Engaged faithfully in the processes of love,
We are charged to follow the ways from above.

When the spirit of Christ falls on us all,
His people become the temple responsive to His call.
We are all a part of this one body.
Each in the family is needed, all of us, everybody.

God binds the wounded in their healing.
Yet as God's arm, we move beyond feeling.
Like iron sharpens iron, we are outreaching,
Learning the pathways of the love we are preaching.

When the Lord speaks, we should not just hear.
Instead, we should listen closely without fear.
God speaks what is needed for our good service
That we may rise to readily fulfill God's purpose.

New life can come from patiently seeking to find
The path forward to truly see and not be blind.
Each of us is the Church, and faithfully remain so.
Let's spread God's love wherever it is we go.

The ending time of a season
Happens, of course, for His own reason.
Time has its own timing, forgiven from sin.
As life from death, we eternally begin again.
