Holding On

Holding On
by Michael Doyle

When darkness comes
Taking away the light,
I put my eyes on Jesus
Knowing His path is right.

When I am overcome,
And feel nothing but grief,
I keep my eyes on the kingdom,
And my prayers seek His relief.

When my pain is beyond belief,
I hold onto the Savior's name.
In His long salve of relief,
I keep my faith beyond all my shame.

I might not always walk the Path,
But I know my Lord's way.
I may struggle, but I know the math,
And will be faithful to judgment day.

Old look, new look, it's still the same.
I keep my faith in God's good name.
In life's endless, grinding miles,
Jesus keeps His love keeping me in smiles.
