Called To Praise

Called To Praise
by Michael Doyle

We walk into today with hearts on fire
Filled as we are with righteous desire.
Sharing the Word so we might learn
All of those things we were called to discern.

Jeremiah was the weeping prophet
And though we may not remember, let's not forget.
From the pillars, he was called to stand
As he boldly spread compassion across the land.

He cried for the truth of judgment and hope,
Filled with faith in turbulence to help cope.
He shared the promise that Jesus would come.
His words prophesied the coming kingdom.

The first moves are made by God in invitation,
Calling on Jeremiah for his prophetic participation.
He, and we, are known from inside the womb.
The invitation is constant to enter God's room.

From youth, we are called as we are,
To be all as we are called to follow His star.
Children of God, we are called for living praise,
To worship and echo wholeheartedly in these days.

Every generation is needed in every way
To do God's good works in every way.
Both feet must be firmly in the game,
Neither too young nor too old, we serve just the same.

We are all part of the one body of worship.
We must keep this in mind in this relationship.
All of us are called to follow.
God's children are to shine, not be in the shadow.

We are fully equipped as we are given.
The Lord knows who we are and we're forgiven.
All of us have our part in this holy family.
We walk together in authentic community.

Every day in every way we have opportunity
To carry out God's mission in this family.
God's plan and purpose is one of service.
In this family, we are to follow our purpose.

We walk this walk in God's power and strength
Throughout our day's longest length.
We serve out what is God's holy part,
With His words imprinted in each of our hearts.

We are set apart with purpose.
We are born to fulfill His service.
God walks with us every step of the way.
He will and does guide us in our living days.

In all our love in all our living years
The greatest lesson is to be greater than our fears.
Let each step be as blessed as He leads.
He will enable us in all of our holy deeds.
