Children walk this world in danger, Sometimes from the familiar stranger. The biggest danger is to fail to defend From the evils that pretend to be a friend.
The Bible shows us in its illustration, How a father should be in holy explanation. As my daughters become adults, I do what I can, Following the Bible, I try to be a decent man.
In this world, we can fall into pessimism. But the way of hope is the way of optimism. My conviction stands, as there is good to work for. It's especially true for these two whom I adore.
The roll of all fathers is easily recognized. As the Book of Romans sets it out as codified. Rightful attitudes are a form of friendship. The best of which is the foundation of relationship.
Still, there is imperfection all around. Yes; no perfect relationship has been found. There is something in how we learn to carry grace For all of those whom we love and embrace.
In this age, toxicity has come to the carousel. The music of words is not necessarily casual It's important not to confuse control with care. Truth doesn't need to be brutal to be fair.
It is better instead to be a role model for imitation. We fathers are to strive to be worthy of emulation, To transfix the best of what stimulates the imagination And teach our children to flourish, not stagnation.
A father's open arms offer sanctuary and true home. These invite our children to know they're not alone. As we live our lives of leadership and excellence, We are to set the example that teaches resilience.
I watch satisfied as my daughters become adults, Knowing my imperfection has still garnered great results. It is moments like these that provide me clarity, To know the lessons of the heart have taught them sincerity.

Heading out of Australia to escape this Aussie winter. First stop Japan, then UK/Ireland and if work doesn't call me back, onto Chicago. I will make it up as I go along
