Mercy Overshadows All

Mercy Overshadows All
by Michael Doyle

Looking around in comparison,
And experiencing what I've done and not done,
To be honest, there's grace in my history,
And I have relied a lot on mercy.

I feel a lot of loving kindness my way
Without hessed, I wouldn't have made it to today.
Sowed with love, my life has grown
Through all of God's love I have been shown.

God's word has seen me through my fails
And somehow saved me from a path to Hell.
All of the times that I've walked outside His law,
Only to return when I listened to His call.

That's the thing about the boundaries of grace.
Now I do my best to stay within God's embrace.
And as much as I have been forgiven,
I know to show this love and grace in every step I live in.

To forgive and forget includes me and you.
We walk in God's freedom in all that we do.
Looking back on all of our living history,
What we see most is God's sweet victory.

Embracing our encounters with God teaches us enough -
That living for God is real, not a bluff.
God responds to our extended hand with His strong hand.
In every way, He is loving and gracefully understands.

And though I do my best to continuously serve,
I see my mistakes but live for His purpose.
Faithfully, I continue to press on in my walk
And I hope that is so much better than my talk.

Joined together as partners in compassion's prayer,
We'll meet in that place where God is there,
And as long as we meet God in His sacred place,
We will be filled with His love, protected by His grace.

We will be filled with His love, protected by His grace.
