Call Out To Love

Call Out To Love
by Michael Doyle

In a life lived with sanctimony
I somehow came to my testimony
Based on faith and healing
That moved beyond mere feeling

Into knowing the true deal
Of finding belief and knowing it real
I reached out as if shown
To the God, I had not known

Praying for a miracle in His name
Not knowing how to remove my shame
Until I learned God's ways
And doing my best to focus through my days

I have called out to His love
Learning to know Heaven above
From all he has done
In my home, we worship the Father, Spirit, and the Son

I lived through that miracle of healing
Doing this was soul-revealing
As He worked all things for His good
Until even this simple man understood

For Me and You

Autumn Trace - An Afternoon's Boating
For Me and You
by Michael Doyle

No one has really asked my advice
But I've seen lightning strike twice
Everyone's part is more than necessary
To be heard is not something contrary

We need to speak out on what we've heard
We need to share what has occurred
We'll need to build our own home
But at least we know we're not alone

We'll find our place is something better
When we build this thing together
It's a new world that we need to find
Where no heart is ever really left behind

We'll find a way to make it through
Believing in each other as we do
Faith and love find a way to be true
Making a better place for me and you

The hands on the clock keep ticking
As time passes much too quickly
It seems I never get enough time with you
All I know is I need our love to be true

We crossed that bridge where we had sighed
Recognizing that all the gods have lied
And while the fates have never died
When you broke my heart, I stood there and cried

Like Leaves In Autumn

Like Leaves In Autumn
by Michael Doyle

A quintessential road trip brings to mind
That Autumn has come to leave Summer behind
Many roads can be taken, traveling any way
To capture the colors that make up our days

Autumn falls like leaves becoming flowers
There is reverence felt in the passing hours
Each leaf knowing that life is the best gift
As they look to the sky, living even as they shift

The Fall winds blow as the chill comes climbing
Leaves blow wild all around and constantly rising
Only to blanket the ground under their trees
Waiting to be raked up under Autumn's breeze

Mother Nature whispers it's time to start again
Squirrels and chipmunks forget they were friends
As they busily gather nuts for their Winter's feast
But otherwise, they seem untroubled at the very least

At night, our campfire is the ending of our day
As it calls to us to rest and find our getaway
There are so many hustles that steal life away
Autumn brings the peace of another well-lived day

The first breath of Autumn came two days ago
But, like the Fall, catching up came a little slow
Two days later, I can no longer wait or hesitate
To remark upon the first day of Autumn's passing date

Everywhere, the winds of change have begun to blow
Colors fall like a baptismal shower; we love its flow
Carved smiles of a thousand pumpkins start to glow
Where everywhere the days are beginning to go down slow
