That You Know Me

You are the same God today
As you were in my yesterday
You are the same God who has stayed
Faithfully as the God to whom I prayed
All those years so long ago
And through all my ebbs and flows
As you have brought healing to my body
Walking me on the path of victory
Crosses are made for a sinner's death
You took away my pain and restored my breath
I praise your name before the heavens and Earth
Giving you my faith for all it's worth
As you have given me my eternity
I will be your servant in this journey
I hope only that in the words that I say
My joy in you will be discerned everyday
You are my savior, to whom I earnestly confess
Your love takes me through every single test
I cry out with all I am that your touch is holy
And how blessed I am that you know me

Dedicated to my youngest daughter who I very dearly love and very nearly lost two years ago today…
These Are the Days of Us

These are the days of us
I learned this from a child
Who gave this wisdom because
This thought played and beguiled
As I tried to teach the ABCs
Like a theme that was a reprise
Of the things important to learn
Only to have my student more wisely discern
That of all the things to learn
There is one lesson that should burn
That's the meaning of real love
And how it fits like a fist in the glove
Of all things that are the most important
To those things that make dreams ascendant
That these are the days of us
And what we do with them matters because
Belief in God and in each other
Brings us to have faith and love for one another
It's in this faith that we might rise above
Putting aside hate, blame, and shame...in favor of love

In All My Remaining Days
In All My Remaining Days

No matter what the season
I've found that Jesus is the reason
He has no other rival
As the key to my survival
I call on His holy name
And if it is all the same
I will give him my praise
Until the end of my days
Jehovah deserves my praise
Throughout my remaining days
He came to fight for you and me
From the mountains to the sea
Bringing me peace and healing
He has seen my soul revealing
Its inner truth in my prayers and praise
And will in all my remaining days
His love endures for the generations
As I hold Him in my veneration
I give my Lord all of my devotion
To the depths of this life's ocean
