Thought For the Day: If We Were To Wake Up Some Morning and Find That Everyone Was The Same Race, Creed, and Color, We Would Find Some Other Cause For Prejudice By Noon

“If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed, and color, we would find some other cause for prejudice by noon.” – George D. Aiken, US senator (20 Aug 1892-1984)

Blossoming Before Our Sight

SenKonscia - A Rose Blossom Gazebo
Blossoming Before Our Sight
by Michael Doyle

Keeping God's presence on our minds
Keeps His will from being left behind
We must ask God to tell us the final cost
It will help us from falling away lost

Knowing God answers our needs we do
This is His presence that we must keep in view
All of life becomes more peaceful in our worship
As we keep aware of this primary relationship

Becoming more rewarding and more real
We become aware of truth over how we feel
The Holy Spirit encourages belief in our walk
Putting aside our foolishness and mistaken talk

Living as saints becomes a matter of active choice
No longer honoring our past sin's lingering voice
There is no good in continuing sin's toleration
However much desire drives us in our depravations

We walk tall however we might falter in happenstance
We must keep God's presence in our circumstances
Keeping our joys and struggles in our personal relationship
While keeping in mind the truth of the Lord's kingship

It is more than just a matter of relying on sentiment
When we keep our relationship with God close and intimate
Like the jumbled puzzle pieces we examine where we've tossed
We keep in mind that life without God has its killing cost

We reap the outcomes of what we learn to carefully sow
It's not just an old time adage, as we come to know
When we live in God's love we begin to walk in the light
Bringing truth to darkness, blossoming before our sight

Thought For the Day: Art Is Our One True Global Language…It Transcends Our Ordinary Lives and Lets Us Imagine What Is Possible

“Art Is Our One True Global Language. It Knows No Nation, It Favors No Race, and It Acknowledges No Class. It Speaks To Our Need To Reveal, Heal, and Transform. It Transcends Our Ordinary Lives and Lets Us Imagine What Is Possible.” – Richard Kamler

First Principles: It Takes A Slightly Better Man To Acknowledge Instantly and Without Reservation That He Is in Error

“Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error.” – Andrew Jackson

Passing the Ball

Ashworth Strength Training Center - Pre-Game Workout
Passing the Ball
by Michael Doyle

Passing the ball down the court
Make the basket or adjust
There is only win or not win on that court
Making it like Muhammed Ali or bust

There are the top-of-the-line schemers
True shooters and relaying daydreamers
Like filthy McNastys claiming their fame
Because winning is the only game

It's the dream of dreams to be had
With only one goal, to be happy, not sad
Then the aerial that takes to the air
Floats like a dream that lives to dare

All the younger players need that GPA
It's more meaningful than the NBA
It's all about going beyond aspiration
And begins with taking it further than inspiration

You gotta take your best shot
Passing that test with all that you have got
Pulchritudinous in all of its charms
Sometimes B-Ball takes all five alarms

That is how it is, one game at a time
However easy it is to take the simple rhyme
It's all-in with the steps we make
With every effort had and every moment we take

Thought For the Day: Dreams Heed No Borders, the Eyes Need No Visas. With Eyes Shut I Walk Across the Line In Time. All the Time.

Perpetual Providence

Paradise Mountains - Scottish Castle Magic
Perpetual Providence
by Michael Doyle

In God's perpetual providence
We are always seeking His guidance
Asking God for aid in making our decisions
That we know His preferences with greater precision

God is a constant companion wherever we go
However we travel; whether by will or by flow
Speaking to our hearts in all that we do
And all things that we wander our way through

We're never lost with God at our side
No matter the blows to our earthly pride
Nothing is hidden and all is revealed
The truth is the light making all unconcealed

God's presence brings the peace in our tempest
It is His presence that helps us in every test
In all of our battles we fight with God's power
Every minute of our lives are within His hour

In all of our struggles we are always finding
That God is our light, however the darkness is blinding
Nothing in this world can hold more power
When God is the beacon of light in our darkest hours

This creates a hunger for God's Word to be read
So that His wisdom shines and are more readily lead
Word-by-word is spent in reverent meditation
That brings the answers in constant revelation

What a joy there is in filling up our hearts
It's the Holy Spirit that never departs
Always our focus is on God's direction
With our hearts wide open to guidance and correction

Living in obedience, we walk in our blessings
Giving God the credit and not spent guessing
Though realizing our need for false independence
We become aware of our true Godly dependence

Prayers become a greater priority
As we realize the fruits of our legacy
Finding hope in all things great and small
We our children of God; please do well and recall
