Godly Thoughts

Noweeta - Over Thinking
Godly Thoughts
by Michael Doyle

Godly thoughts are so full of power
Richer than those we think are ours
What we think about focuses control
That gives direction to our souls

Garbage in becomes garbage out
To be confident or filled with doubt
What we focus on becomes our ways
That we will live throughout our days

We must always seek the ways above
Filled with God's truth and living love
If we are to live in our best resilience
We must live in godly obedience

Baptized in the spirit of God above
Our minds are best filled with Godly love
Walking away from earthly idolatry
That becomes the path of human depravity

It is right to live for what we need
But not immorality and selfish greed
We must put aside that which doesn't fit
Finding patience through the Holy Spirit

This begins in establishing our relationship
With the God above that we worship
We self-define how we perceive
Forming our own world as best we can conceive

Negative tapes play as if they are true
But are nothing but a falsely felt skew
We must remove ourselves from the bad
If we are to live our best lives that can be had

Living with ourselves and with all the others
The Gospel only fails to unseeing sisters and brothers
Satan blinds the minds of the unbelievers
The Serpent is the greatest of all deceivers

It isn't just about sin and wanton desire
There is discipline and out of control fire
Self-indulgence can overcome rightful pleasure
All good things come in their good measure

Your mind decides what you will come to think
Rather within the Holy Spirit or on the brink
Indwelling as a helper from inside we will live
Right in our walking or hoping that God will forgive

Of All Things Valued

Achill Island - Sunset Bursts Through the Clouds II
Of All Things Valued
by Michael Doyle

Like pieces arranged on the chessboard
The Man from La Mancha bears his sword
Prince or pawnbroker, there is trade for madness
But only the type that perpetually leads to sadness

The battle with evil and giants cannot compare
With the language of errant knights spoken fair
These are the tokens of affection to be worn
As emblems into each of the battles for which he was born

Some madmen are easier to love than others
While life goes on and we're joined as eternal brothers
Picking up the pieces after every battle lost
All that serves as "the because" is worth the cost

One wants to believe in those who believe in our best
And hold their truths as those unworthy of any contest
Approaching each challenge like a precious sacrament
A good knight seeks to kiss the hem of his lady's garment

The disillusioned and peasants fail to recognize true gold
Distinguished from those foolish ores stolen in days of old
Who is to say what it is that is useless to hold and see
Of all the things most valued by you and me

Dulcinea del Toboso’s Truth

Missing Melody - Waiting For My Lady Love
Dulcinea del Toboso's Truth
by Michael Doyle

The best gravy is the world's hunger
And in our dreams, we grow no younger
In his sight, the lady's true beauty
Removes her sins as is his knightly duty

He's dreamed of her as a virgin lady
And while his life turns his thoughts softly
Dulcinea has led a life that has been tough
Perhaps his belief is enough two, but just enough

In every man's heart is his own trace of truth
And some of the best pursue Heaven from youth
The best defense is the one that diverts
From life's cruelties and little hurts

With no selfishness in even a single bone
The madness of life only makes him groan
About that which we may never truly know
This is the way of life as on and on it goes
